Gateway Arch

Every community has a story to tell and the citizenry wants to connect to the place they call home. We believe everyone is a historian at heart! Defining our past allows us to understand and connect with each other while looking to the future. The Gateway Arch will give Ontario a sense of place. The Gateway Arch announces “you are entering the 1884 Historic township of Ontario”, a different and special zone within the city.

Starting in 2005 with and idea, Revitalize Ontario has been working towards this installation. It has been a long road with a few setbacks, but we are ready to see this beautiful Gateway Arch project completed. Our current goal is to install and commemorate the Gateway Arch in 2021.

The Gateway Arch will be made from steel to mimic the design of the railroad bridge structure, and then powder coated to last for generations. It will raise up into the sky twenty-five feet above and seventy-four feet across the railroad crossing on East Idaho Avenue just before the underpass heading west.

The Ontario Gateway Arch, silhouetted against our vast azure sky, will span across East Idaho Avenue just before the Union Pacific train bridge as you enter Historic Downtown Ontario

Because a project like this takes a community, we ask your help to create this beautiful Gateway Arch for Ontario. In early 2020 our estimated budget was $200,000 for production and installation. With the COVID pandemic our grants were put on hold and fundraising has been impossible. If you, or your company, would be willing to donate or help make the Gateway Arch a reality please contact us.
